Title:
gnome shell freezes when too many notifications appear

Status in gnome-shell package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
I'm using 20.04. When I receive some notifications immediately one
after the other, the shell sometimes freezes.

I usually make it start again moving to a vt and doing `killall -3
  gnome-shell`.

This makes it work again (except it makes some apps like PyCharm and
  Chrome to crash).
