Title:
  rhythmbox freezes.   got rid of window, but kill -9 doesn't work

Status in rhythmbox package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
  rhythmbox can be pretty slow - creating playlists and changing songs.
  but this time it froze completely.  I tried to kill the PID and it
  didn't work.  tried also kill -9 as me and as root.  no effect.  X'ing
  the window in the GUI got rid of the window, but the process is still
  running.  can't get rid of it.
