Reporter in comment #9 says no longer an issue No comments from any other user for over 5 years Upstream report has moved to https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/rhythmbox/issues/1163 but has seen no activity for 7 years Not an issue here with rhythmbox 3.4.3 and Ubuntu 20.04 (dev) So closing as fixed.

It becomes unresponsive, only option is to kill it by a "force to close" or using the terminal. It happened to me with audio files of length varying from 5 minutes to 2 hours. Tested file format was mp3.
