The location of the app icon and the desktop containing the trash icon
are actually two different extensions so it's understandable that they

It's also understandable why you would want them to work together more

Bug description:
  Ubuntu 19.10

  1) I selected and dragged the Amazon dash icon, and placed it on top of the
trash bin. The trash bin is located on the desktop. I released the mouse button.
  2) Amazon dash icon should have been removed from the dash.
  3) Amazon dash icon was not removed from the dash.
