attached xorg.log. Thanks for the explanation. However I do think that since both Windows 10 and Ubuntu use same Nvidia driver, and Windows can handle HDMI with Intel GPU only, then Ubuntu should be able to do the same.

For some reason dual monitor setup with external monitor via HDMI only works if I switch to Nvidia only. If I select Intel GPU or "on-demand" in Nvidia server settings HDMI out is not working at all - xrandr shows HDMI out disconnected. --- ProblemType: Bug ApportVersion: 2.20.11-0ubuntu8.2 Architecture: amd64 CurrentDesktop: ubuntu:GNOME DisplayManager: gdm3 DistroRelease: Ubuntu 19.10 InstallationDate: Installed on 2019-10-29 (38 days ago) InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 19.10 "Eoan Ermine" - Release amd64 (20191017) NonfreeKernelModules: nvidia_modeset nvidia Package: gnome-shell 3.34.1+git20191024-1ubuntu1~19.10.1 PackageArchitecture: amd64 ProcEnviron: TERM=xterm-256color PATH=(custom, no user) XDG_RUNTIME_DIR=<set> LANG=en_US.UTF-8 SHELL=/bin/bash ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 5.3.0-23.25-generic 5.3.7 RelatedPackageVersions: mutter-common 3.34.1+git20191107-1ubuntu1~19.10.1 Tags: eoan Uname: Linux 5.3.0-23-generic x86_64 UpgradeStatus: No upgrade log present (probably fresh install) UserGroups: adm cdrom dip lpadmin lxd plugdev sambashare sudo _MarkForUpload: True To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg-server/+bug/1854877/+subscriptions -- Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~desktop-packages Post to : desktop-packages@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~desktop-packages More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
