Recent releases of Thunderbird now have 'Preferences' displayed in a
main window tab as per the change also made to Firefox. Any problems
displaying 'Preferences' in a too small window have been fixed as the
tab is scrollable to allow for a large number of options.

  When the Edit - Preferences window is opened, it is not big enough to fit 
everything.  This has been the case for a long time, but I couldn't find a bug 
here about it.
