What I spect: Volume to raise smoothly from mute to max What I get: Volume suddenly rises to 15% at the second or third "step" of the volume slider. Test: Using keyboard shortcuts, rise volume to max and then to the minimun (muted). Then slowly start to rise. Alsamixer shows: 0: master 0 | headphone 68 | pcm 0 -- muted 1: master 16 | headphone 0 | pcm 100 -- muted 2: master 16 | headphone 0 | pcm 100 -- muted 3: master 18 | headphone 100 | pcm 100 -- volume ~15% ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 12.04 Package: alsa-utils 1.0.25-1ubuntu5 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 3.2.0-30.48-generic-pae 3.2.27 Uname: Linux 3.2.0-30-generic-pae i686 NonfreeKernelModules: wl ApportVersion: 2.0.1-0ubuntu13 Architecture: i386 CheckboxSubmission: 1c569236429244c2837ef2720aaa3765 CheckboxSystem: b845c366ea09c60efa3a45c1b5b21525 Date: Sat Sep 8 11:06:39 2012 ExecutablePath: /usr/bin/alsamixer InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 12.04 LTS "Precise Pangolin" - Release i386 (20120423) ProcEnviron: TERM=xterm SHELL=/bin/bash PATH=(custom, user) LANG=en_US.UTF-8 SourcePackage: alsa-utils UpgradeStatus: No upgrade log present (probably fresh install) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/alsa-driver/+bug/1047864/+subscriptions -- Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~desktop-packages Post to : desktop-packages@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~desktop-packages More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
