Title:
Sound Icon Does Not Appear In Panel

Status in gnome-shell package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
The sound icon that is supposed to be present in the top right "system
tray" to control volume is absent for me, though there is a space
there where it is supposed to be, and scrolling on it does actually
increase/decrease volume as it normally would.
