The poppler update is tricky, as usual they bumped the soname and did some code changes that impact other projects. Testing in a ppa e.g libreoffice fails to build, and looks like upstream didn't fix that yet. Same of e.g extractpdfmark https://launchpadlibrarian.net/469668101/buildlog_ubuntu-focal-amd64.extractpdfmark_1.1.0-1ubuntu3_BUILDING.txt.gz
We might look at backporting specific fixes, keeping away from API changes for this cycle ** Bug watch added: Document Foundation Bugzilla #131353 https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=131353 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to poppler in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1865351 Title: Update to poppler 0.86.1 in Focal Status in poppler package in Ubuntu: New Bug description: Please update to poppler 0.86.1 in Focal https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/poppler/poppler/-/blob/master/NEWS Release 0.86.1: core: * Fix regression in Browse Link handling * Internal code improvements Release 0.86.0: core: * Fix link content exfiltration attack * Splash: Implement gouraudTriangleShadedFill for some non parametrized shadings * Fix case unsensitive search for Old Hungarian, Warang Citi, Medefaidrin and Adlam * Internal code improvements glib: * Automatic handle of page's cropbox on annots.
