I ran a QA-test on (2020-Apr-03 ubu 20.04 desktop amd64) dell [optiplex] 745 (c2d-6600, 6gb, amd/ati radeon rv516/x1300/x1550) because lshw reports same video card, no glitches there with wallpaper on boot, nor changing wallpaper.
--- possibly unrelated I did have that box boot the first time to "Oh No, something went wrong" and want me to logout, to get itself stuck in a loop..
