Title:
[Realtek ALC889] "Speaker" mixer volume reset to 0 on boot

Status in alsa-driver package in Ubuntu:
  Invalid

Bug description:
On every boot sound is inaudible due to the "Speaker" volume
(configurable in alsamixer) being reset to 0. I am not sure whether
this is pulseaudio's or ALSA's fault. When I raise the volume on the
"Speaker" control, stereo playback works fine.

This system is upgraded from Karmic, where if I remember correctly,
this "Speaker" mixer did not exist - this may be related to the bug.

I also assume this might be related to Bug #410446, although I have
  not yet investigated that.
