When installing chromium-browser in eoan/focal (which is a transitional package that installs the chromium snap), update- alternatives cannot be used to set it as x-www-browser or gnome-www- browser. This is a regression compared to the version of chromium- browser in bionic. [Test case] # update-alternatives --set x-www-browser /usr/bin/chromium-browser update-alternatives: error: alternative /usr/bin/chromium-browser for x-www-browser not registered; not setting [Regression potential] This is fixing a regression by adding back a code snippet that was in the package in bionic and previous releases. If the snippet has incorrect syntax, it could possibly prevent installation of the package. If the package installs fine, it's unlikely that anything could have regressed.
