Public bug reported: I use the uim input method, which works fine with non-snap apps, and used to work with the non-snap package of Chromium. In 20.04, chromium package now becomes a snap, and uim input method not longer works (rendering the browser useless).
With some searching I found similar issues with other input methods, some of which have been addresses. It appears that it is now the responsibility of every snap packager to support input methods, and the snap cannot rely upon system-configured methods. So please support UIM. ** Affects: chromium-browser (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to chromium-browser in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1878621 Title: uim input method does not work with Chromium snap Status in chromium-browser package in Ubuntu: New Bug description: I use the uim input method, which works fine with non-snap apps, and used to work with the non-snap package of Chromium.
