Title: Alert sounds are captured by the microphone Status in alsa-driver package in Ubuntu: New Bug description: On my Fossa the system sounds (e.g., the alert sound) are also captured by my microphone. Thus, if I press backspace in an empty terminal, my contacts in a video-call can hear the default bell sound making *pling*. When opening the System > Audio on Gnome I can see a rise on the volume bar as well. A workaround exists by disabling the alert sounds as described in the docs: https://help.ubuntu.com/stable/ubuntu-help/sound-alert.html.en This has been the default since installation for me and drives my contacts crazy. :-) ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 20.04 Package: alsa-base 1.0.25+dfsg-0ubuntu5 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 5.4.0-33.37-generic 5.4.34 Uname: Linux 5.4.0-33-generic x86_64 ApportVersion: 2.20.11-0ubuntu27.2 Architecture: amd64 AudioDevicesInUse: USER PID ACCESS COMMAND /dev/snd/controlC1: jl 3027 F.... pulseaudio /dev/snd/controlC0: jl 3027 F.... pulseaudio /dev/snd/pcmC0D0p: jl 3027 F...m pulseaudio CasperMD5CheckResult: skip CurrentDesktop: ubuntu:GNOME Date: Sat Jun 6 10:53:55 2020 InstallationDate: Installed on 2020-04-24 (42 days ago) InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 20.04 LTS "Focal Fossa" - Release amd64 (20200423) PackageArchitecture: all ProcEnviron: PATH=(custom, no user) XDG_RUNTIME_DIR=<set> LANG=de_DE.UTF-8 SHELL=/bin/bash SourcePackage: alsa-driver Symptom: audio Symptom_Card: ThinkPad Thunderbolt 3 Dock USB Audio - ThinkPad Thunderbolt 3 Dock USB Symptom_PulseAudioLog: Jun 05 20:03:08 x1c dbus-daemon[1617]: [system] Activating via systemd: service name='org.freedesktop.RealtimeKit1' unit='rtkit-daemon.service' requested by ':1.37' (uid=125 pid=2067 comm="/usr/bin/pulseaudio --daemonize=no --log-target=jo" label="unconfined") Jun 05 20:03:24 x1c systemd[2021]: pulseaudio.service: Succeeded.
