Unattaching the display, using the laptop display does work, but mouse cursor (see below) has the same problem. Furthermore the mouse cursor is - instead of the usual arrow - a vertical dotted line of 16 pixel with approx. 4 pixel spacing. Changing mouse cursor layout in settings does not help. Since this laptop always worked without any flaw, I assume a software bug.
