Bug description:
  On a regular recently installed Xubuntu, the Gnome PolicyKit agent
  will not start:

  $ /usr/lib/policykit-1-gnome/polkit-gnome-authentication-agent-1

  (polkit-gnome-authentication-agent-1:18789): polkit-gnome-1-WARNING
  **: 10:14:23.384: Unable to determine the session we are in: No
  session for pid 18789

  $ ps aux | grep pol
  smith    18821  0.0  0.0  19256   736 pts/0    S+   10:16   0:00 grep pol
