The touchpad is from Elan (see Vendor-ID 04F3) and there are the following two versions: ELAN0001:00 04F3:3140 MSFT0001:00 04F3:3140 The MSFT (where MS is probably the abbreviation for MicroSoft) seems to have a different firmware that meets Microsoft's requirements and there is no driver for it under Linux yet.
