Hi, this detail has been discussed a lot in the past on Yaru repo. The
summary is that for the purpose of the icon, the grid seems to be the
best representation so far. With this in mind we decided to keep the
icon, but we are not closed to proposals.

I leave here some links to go into the details of the discussions

- [New app grid icon (yes, again)](https://github.com/ubuntu/yaru/issues/796)
- [Use the app grid icon instead of the ubuntu
logo](https://github.com/ubuntu/yaru/issues/584)

Feature Request: Ability to change "Applications Overview" button
  style.

Status in gnome-shell package in Ubuntu:
  Invalid

Bug description:
  1) Ubuntu 20.04
  2) Gnome 3.36
  3) There could be an option to change the "Applications Overview" button
style. Currently, the "Applications Overview" button style is a 3x3 grid. There
could be a 3x3 grid option, Ubuntu logo option, (any other suggested icons) and
a custom icon option.
  4) There is not an option to change the "Applications Overview" button style.
