Hi,

I followed the suggested solution to remove the outdated 'Intel's driver
as per bug 1867668

sudo apt remove xserver-xorg-video-intel

And this resolved the reported issues : corrupted background and the
issue with video players (mplayer).

Title:
[Skylake] Wallpaper corrupted after upgrading to 20.04

Status in mutter package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
Displays are corrupted after upgrading to 20.04. No video players
appear to work (VLC, mplayer), crashing with "Segmentation fault".

If I boot up in recovery mode and then continue to normal bootup, the
screen appears fine and the video players work.
