My initial report was wrong, it still occurred in the GNOME session as well, just not at first? I tried it on Wayland and while it was much faster, it was still slower than I'd expect (5-10 seconds). Unfortunately running that command didn't work, as I got frustrated and switched to KDE 😅

If I switch to the "GNOME on Xorg" session instead of the "Ubuntu" session, the problem doesn't occur. It's only a problem with the Ubuntu session, and I've tried disabling extensions, changing theme, loading fewer apps, etc. The only thing that's made a difference was switching to the GNOME on Xorg session.
