I've just checked and saw some errors in syslog, e.g.: Nov 26 19:39:28 hp gnome-shell[11142]: St:ERROR:../src/st/st- bin.c:206:st_bin_destroy: assertion failed: (priv->child == NULL) I have the feeling it is related to mounting stuff. E.g., I am now avoiding to use sshfs, because i have the impression that this makes it more likely. just now (for the 19:39 line above) I tried logging in with a Nexus 7 tablet plugged in which I guess would also result in some mounting/filesystem action. However, as I am typing this, I am logged in and the tablet is still connected, so, maybe it's unrelated ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 20.10 Package: gnome-shell 3.38.1-1ubuntu1.1 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 5.8.0-29.31-generic 5.8.14 Uname: Linux 5.8.0-29-generic x86_64 ApportVersion: 2.20.11-0ubuntu50.1 Architecture: amd64 CasperMD5CheckResult: skip CurrentDesktop: ubuntu:GNOME Date: Thu Nov 26 19:43:15 2020 DisplayManager: gdm3 InstallationDate: Installed on 2020-10-13 (43 days ago) InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 20.10 "Groovy Gorilla" - Beta amd64 (20200930) RelatedPackageVersions: mutter-common 3.38.1-1ubuntu1 SourcePackage: gnome-shell UpgradeStatus: No upgrade log present (probably fresh install) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-shell/+bug/1905774/+subscriptions -- Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~desktop-packages Post to : desktop-packages@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~desktop-packages More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
