Public bug reported: Ubuntu Budgie and Budgie Desktop uses GNOME Screensaver for its lock- screen.
GNOME40 with GDM now grabs the Screensaver dbus entry that GNOME Screensaver previously utilised. This prevents GNOME Screensaver from working i.e. provide its locking capability. To resolve this requires a patch to kill the GDM spawned process releasing the dbus grab. All of this is explained in the dep3 headers of the debdiff patch attached ** Affects: gnome-screensaver (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Assignee: fossfreedom (fossfreedom) Status: New ** Changed in: gnome-screensaver (Ubuntu) Assignee: (unassigned) => fossfreedom (fossfreedom) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to gnome-screensaver in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1930104 Title: GNOME 40 (GDM) prevents GNOME Screensaver from locking Status in gnome-screensaver package in Ubuntu: New Bug description: Ubuntu Budgie and Budgie Desktop uses GNOME Screensaver for its lock- screen.
