  thunderbird calendar is blank on opening

Status in thunderbird package in Ubuntu:
  Expired

Bug description:
  at first thunderbird calendar displays "enable" buttons for each calendar, 
but clicking those has no visible effect. 
  Then clicking and clicking again the "eye" to first hide and then to display 
the calendars also has no visible effect.
  NOTE that this has been the case for some weeks now.
