The problem seems to be caused by evince that uses DSC processing on a 
non-DSC-conforming file.
Removal of all DSC comments makes evince display the last page of the file 
only. This indicates that evince cannot handle non-conforming files at all.

Perhaps evince can convert all PostScript files to PDF and avoid the
reliance on DSC parsing.

  evince cannot display one of my postscript files

Bug description:
  When I try to read the attached file with evince it only displays the
  first 3 pages. Starting from page 4 it gets stuck in a "loading" loop.
  ghostscript can display the file just fine though so I think this may
  be a bug in evince.
