Affecting this digitizer is also bug #1574028 "Asus T300 CHI: touchscreen digitiser missing at boot". Using 16.04 amd64 Ubuntu (unity). In this case the USB-attached "Synaptics Touch Digitizer V04" fails to provide any multitouch functionality.
