Public bug reported: I recently upgraded from 18.04.6LTS to 20.04.3LTS (both 64-bit). >From the very first time I launched chromium (after the upgrade) it started >using 100% CPU. I'm running this on a VM which only has 1 CPU allocated (and 2GB RAM with 2GB SWAP) but I've been running 18.04 (and Chromium) on this VM for several months without any performance issues. https://askubuntu.com/questions/1271382/why-is-chromium-using-100-cpu also seems to confirm this as an issue/bug. Let me know if you need anything else as it would be good to get this resolved ASAP. I've attached a screenshot showing the nature of the problem.
