Title: firefox 10 crashes on loading any java applet Status in “firefox” package in Ubuntu: Invalid Bug description: PROBLEM Firefox crashes and closes when trying to load a page with a java applet. Then shows a crash report to send to Mozilla. STEPS 1. Download Java from http:/www.java.com (jre-6u30-linux-i586.bin), extract, and soft-link the file <java folder>/lib/i386/libnpjp2.so to /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins/ so we have the link /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins/libnpjp2.so 2. Close firefox and open again 3. in URL of Firefox type about:plugins and you 'll see that java plugin is installed 4. go to http://jmol.sourceforge.net/demo/ribbons/ which contains a java applet RESULT Firefox immediately crashes and closes.
