They look slow because the easeInExpo curve does nothing for most of the first half of the animation time: https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/clutter/-/blob/master/doc/reference/easing- modes.svg A much more responsive, natural and fluid curve with the same overall duration would be to use an easeOut* curve.
