Public bug reported:

Connecting to a modern installation of Ubuntu 21.10 Impish Indri using
the Wayland display server (and PipeWire / gnome-remote-desktop) does
not work from the current LTS release 20.04 Focal Fossa. It aborts
immediately after authentication.

The bug appears directly related to the version 1.4.2 in focal, as
building the up-to-date remmina version 1.4.23 package (from jammy)
under focal does not exhibit the faulty behavior. Since future versions
of Ubuntu itself will likely stick with Wayland and therefore cannot be
used with Remmina from the LTS release anymore, I think an SRU might be
in order.

As a workaround, other VNC viewers such as Vinagre are able to connect
to the same server under focal.
