Could you give us steps to reproduce? It works for me after adding Others/Chewing in keyboard setup in the jammy VM.

Per check around, found that just force add "--xim" to /usr/bin/ibus-daemon, then it works. Note: per test, add --xim works for below cases: 1. x11 mode 2. Wayland mode, x11 client, test by using microsoft edge. 3. Wayland mode, Wayland client, tested by using gnome-terminal.
