I have some video files in my Videos directory. Playing them from command line 
gives no problem and the video is correctly played also with sound

corrado@corrado-n6-kk-0811:~/Videos$ ls
Screencasts  x.AVI  x.MOV  x.mp4  x.webm
corrado@corrado-n6-kk-0811:~/Videos$ totem x.webm 
corrado@corrado-n6-kk-0811:~/Videos$ totem x.AVI 
corrado@corrado-n6-kk-0811:~/Videos$ totem x.mp4 
corrado@corrado-n6-kk-0811:~/Videos$ totem x.MOV 
corrado@corrado-n6-kk-0811:~/Videos$ 
but if do double click on any of the files i have a black screen.
same with right click on file and selecting 'open with videos'
