I can confirm this behavior for LibreOffice 3.4.4. in Ubuntu 11.10 64-Bit. I can not confirm this for WindowsXP and LibreOffice 3.5.0rc1.
I believe, this behavior has to do with the methode of Linux to paste marked text with the middle mousebutton and LibO does not recognize that? Is this a different codebase?
