Title:
Window manager not started after login

Status in gnome-session package in Ubuntu:
  Invalid

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: gnome-session

When I log in to ubuntu, my window manager compiz is not started, and I have
to use the Appearance dialog to manually start it.
However, when I switch to guest session, the window manager is started by
default.

I cannot report by apport, which generates an Internet connection
error. If further information is needed, I would like to help
  providing it.

  Using 2.28.0-0ubuntu5 under Ubuntu 9.10.
