Yes, the machine I wanted to see listed is in the output:

+ wlan0 IPv6 chris-Inspiron-M301Z SFTP File Transfer local
+ eth0 IPv6 chris-Inspiron-M301Z SFTP File Transfer local

but it wasn't in the nautilus Network view.

Title:
IPv6 avahi servers are not discovered

Status in “nautilus” package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
When I click 'Browse Network' in nautilus, I get a list of computers
  advertising SFTP on my network.

My laptop doesn't show up in the list.

Here is the avahi output for my laptop (the MAC address has been removed):
  chris@chris-iMac:~$ avahi-browse -ta | grep M3

There are 2 differences (that I think are significant) between my
laptop and the computers showing up. My laptop is only connected over
wifi. My laptop is only showing up as IPv6 (presumably because of the
  wifi network).
