Thank you for reporting this to Ubuntu.  Sometimes Firefox profiles can
become corrupt and/or extensions can conflict.  Could you please try
this with a new profile and see if the problem still exists?  You do not
need to delete your old profile to test.  If this helps, you might want
to try to disable all your extensions and re-enable them one by one
until you find the problematic one.

You can start the profile manager with the following command:
firefox -ProfileManager

Alternatively, do you have a Mozilla Crash Report ID (available in
about:crashes)

  firefox crash after update

Bug description:
  after automatic updates, Firefox has been updated to version 9, and
  this has resulted in the loss of bookmarks and history. I tried to
  upgrade to version 10, but the problem remained, and more if I try to
  open multiple tabs and a few sites like youtube, firefox keeps me
  going 130% cpu and the browser becomes unusable!!
