Public bug reported:

I'm running Ubuntu 22.04.4 LTS. I used ubuntu-drivers
(0.9.6.2~0.22.04.6) to try and install NVIDIA drivers 535 and 470 on
Ubuntu 22.04, but the kernel modules are only installed for the 6.8
kernel (my default kernel), leading to a failure to boot into the 6.2
kernel. Specifically, this causes GDM to fail to start, with the logs
showing the following error messages repeated over and over:

00:36:29 gdm3: Gdm: GdmDisplay: Session never registered, failing
00:35:58 kernel: modprobe: FATAL: Module nvidia not found in directory
/lib/modules/6.2.0-26-generic
00:35:48 modprobe: modprobe: FATAL: Module nvidia not found in directory
/lib/modules/6.2.0-26-generic

The issue did not occur when kernel 6.2 was my default, so it likely affects
any non-default kernel versions installed.
