Public bug reported: Description of the bug: When using the 'ubuntu-drivers list' or 'ubuntu-drivers devices' command, not all the Nvidia drivers are shown, especially in Ubuntu 24.04.01. There are only 4 drivers in the list: administrator@MS-7984:~$ sudo ubuntu-drivers list nvidia-driver-470-server, (kernel modules provided by linux-modules-nvidia-470-server-generic) nvidia-driver-535-server, (kernel modules provided by linux-modules-nvidia-535-server-generic) nvidia-driver-470, (kernel modules provided by linux-modules-nvidia-470-generic) nvidia-driver-535, (kernel modules provided by linux-modules-nvidia-535-generic)
And yet when searching in the official Ubuntu repository, the packages are listed, as seen here: https://packages.ubuntu.com/search?suite=noble§ion=all&arch=any&keywords=nvidia- driver&searchon=names My Nvidia graphics card is a GeForce GTX 950. If anyone else has the same issue on their Nvidia card, please click "This affects me". And just to clarify, this bug has nothing to do with this bug: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ubuntu-drivers- common/+bug/2037004 Why? Because even when changing the detect.py file, it still can't find the other Nvidia drivers, it only just removes the deprecated command warning. Expected result: All Nvidia drivers are supposed to show in the list, if they're compatible with your graphics card. Actual result: It only lists 4 Nvidia drivers, as mentioned above.
