Please check the .desktop files of your applications. They should
contain a line "Icon=".
If there are no .desktop files for your apps then icons might have
previously worked using X11 window properties (see xprop). So please
also try selecting 'Ubuntu on Xorg' at the login screen.

Regression: Ubuntu 24.04.1 does not show icons of our apps on dash

Bug description:
My company develops applications using pure Java (two apps) and QtJambi (Java
wrapped for Qt 5, 1 app). After updating my system from Ubuntu 22.04.3 to
Ubuntu 24.04.1 the icons of our application disappeared, while other
applications have their icons as expected. The list of unaffected applications:
- Firefox
- Terminal
- VS Code
- GitKraken
- Zoom
- Shutter
- System Monitor
- ...many others
How to debug why the icons for the our applications are missing? Why
they are disappeared after update 22.04.3 -> 24.04.1? The applications
was not recompiled since update.
