Thanks. So to be clear, the upstream firefox deb doesn't provide a
/etc/apparmor.d/usr.bin.firefox ? We should clean up that conffile on
upgrade, but we might not be able to retroactively do it for people who
were already migrated to the snap or come from an Ubuntu serie which is
out of support. You would probably have more consistent results by
provide a working apparmor profile in the upstream firefox deb...

Title:
Firefox package built by Canonical should properly remove all of the
AppArmor configuration files
Status in firefox package in Ubuntu:
Confirmed
Bug description:
Confere https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1918003
Summary: before 22.04 the firefox package provided by Canonical was
installing a set of rules in /etc/apparmor.d/usr.bin.firefox. It is my
understanding reading the package that these rules would only be
removed upon purge operation.
The Mozilla-built package replaces this if the users installs the
appropriate repository. It was made sure that the new rules pushed by
the apparmor package in /etc/apparmor.d/firefox would fit that usecase
as visible in
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/apparmor/+bug/2046844
Unfortunately, because there is not a purge when enabling the mozilla
apt repository and installing (upgrading to) the mozilla-built firefox
package, we end up with incorrect AppArmor setup.
