Title: package firefox 131.0.2+build1-0ubuntu0.22.04.1~mt1 failed to install/upgrade: new firefox package pre-installation script subprocess returned error exit status 1 Status in firefox package in Ubuntu: New Bug description: On upgrading from 22.04 to 24.04 Noble Nambot it said I must use snap for Thunderbird. It couldn't install a "tmp/apt-dpkg-install" package for either of Thunderbird or Firefox. Then grub install devices said grub boot loader no longer present, so I checked /dev/sda for "configure grub-pc". it said it couldn't install the upgrade and a recovery will run. The last terminal message said errors were encounter while processing thunderbird-locale-en and thunderbird- locale-en-us.
