Public bug reported:
**Description:**
In Ubuntu 25.04 Beta, the mouse cursor occasionally displays incorrect icons.
For example:
- In Gnome Text, when typing in a text area, the cursor sometimes remains as
the standard pointer icon instead of switching to the text (I-beam) cursor.
- In other applications, such as Nautilus, the cursor sometimes incorrectly
displays the "resize window" icon instead of the standard pointer.
**Frequency:**
This issue occurs frequently, but the steps to reliably reproduce the bug have
not yet been identified.
**Expected Behavior:**
The cursor icon should update contextually—for example, showing the I-beam icon
in text fields and the pointer icon during standard navigation.
**Actual Behavior:**
The cursor icon often remains incorrect or changes to an unrelated icon,
reducing usability and causing confusion.
**Environment:**
- **OS:** Ubuntu 25.04 Beta
- **Desktop Environment:** GNOME (default)
- **Affected Applications:** Gnome Text, Nautilus, and possibly others
**Additional Notes:**
- The issue may be related to cursor theme handling or compositing.
- It occurs across multiple apps, not isolated to a single one.
