Public bug reported:

when you need to listen your computer on more ip (static) addresses

you must do that

sudo apt-get purge network-manager network-manager-gnome
gksu gedit /etc/network/interfaces and change contento to:

auto lo
iface lo inet loopback

auto eth0
iface eth0 inet static
        address 192.168.2.5
        netmask 255.255.255.0
        broadcast 192.168.2.255
        gateway 192.168.2.1

auto eth0:1
iface eth0:1 inet static
        address 192.168.2.6
        netmask 255.255.255.0
        broadcast 192.168.2.255
        gateway 192.168.2.1

sudo /etc/init.d/networking restart
ifconfig

(that's works on ubuntu 11.04 and previos versions)
