  1) lsb_release -rd
  Description:  Ubuntu 11.04
  Release:      11.04

  2) apt-cache policy libreoffice-calc
  libreoffice-calc:
    Installed: 1:3.3.2-1ubuntu5
    Candidate: 1:3.3.2-1ubuntu5
    Version table:
   *** 1:3.3.2-1ubuntu5 0

       1:3.3.2-1ubuntu4 0
          500 http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ natty/main i386 Packages

  3) What is expected to happen in LibreOffice Calc via the Terminal:

  cd ~/Desktop && wget

https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/openoffice.org/+bug/447955/+attachment/812872/+files/invoice.ods
  && localc -nologo invoice.ods

  the file opens and can click around without frequently greyscreening.

  4) What happens if one clicks around quickly to different cells
  instead is it greyscreens for such long periods of time and frequency
  as to make the file uneditable.

  WORKAROUND: Open in Gnumeric via the Terminal:

  cd ~/Desktop && wget

https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/openoffice.org/+bug/447955/+attachment/812872/+files/invoice.ods
  && gnumeric --no-splash invoice.ods

  Notice it opens quickly and has no performance issues clicking around
  the file.

  apt-cache policy gnumeric
  gnumeric:
    Installed: 1.10.13-1ubuntu1
    Candidate: 1.10.13-1ubuntu1

  Original Reporter Comments: every 2 sec or so system froze. only mouse
  pointer works. after 2-3 sec's become normal for 1-2 sec then again it
  repeats. same document can be opened in 9.04 with out any probs.
  terminal gave this output but it was same in 9.04 and it works fine.
  uses 100% cpu too:
