Happening for me as well. Its not happening all the time, but when happens, I am unable to start conversation. I have to quit empathy and open it again to work normally. Any idea when will this be fixed ?

Neither does right-clicking on their name and selecting the Chat menu option (as an aside WLM contacts don't even have a Chat menu option). However if a contact initiaites the conversation I can open the conversation by double-clicking the notification balloon and chat with them fine. (although this doesn't always work either, bug there is another bug about that) ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 11.10 Package: empathy 3.2.0.1-0ubuntu1.1 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 3.0.0-15.26-generic 3.0.13 Uname: Linux 3.0.0-15-generic x86_64 ApportVersion: 1.23-0ubuntu4 Architecture: amd64 Date: Tue Feb 7 16:17:00 2012 ExecutablePath: /usr/bin/empathy InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 11.10 "Oneiric Ocelot" - Release amd64 (20111012) ProcEnviron: LANGUAGE=en_GB:en PATH=(custom, no user) LANG=en_GB.UTF-8 SHELL=/bin/bash SourcePackage: empathy UpgradeStatus: No upgrade log present (probably fresh install) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/empathy/+bug/928341/+subscriptions -- Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~desktop-packages Post to : desktop-packages@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~desktop-packages More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
