#18 Péter Trombitás, That is an excellent description of my problem as well. I've only tested 12.04 beta1 from a live USB stick, but I have never before had any troubles with wireless in Ubuntu since I started using it in 2008. The ipw2200 driver is used and the adapter is called eth1 but that's been the case since 8.04. I've installed wicd as well and managed to set up a connection without any problems.
