** Description changed:

Installed precise, fully updated. After the system boots, lightdm seems
to hang for a few seconds before I can enter my password to login. The
mouse is resposnive however the keyboard is not, neither are any of the
indicators. There is no background while lightdm is hung, once the
background(wallpaper) loads then lightdm is responsive and I can login.
This also happens once already logged in and choosing "log out".

I checked the lightdm logs and didn't see any errors or warnings to
indicate what the problem is. Initially, I thought maybe it was related
to displaying the select user account's wallpaper. I use a wallpaper
slideshow. To test this theory, I disabled the slideshow and the problem
  still exists.

  Steps to reproduce:

Install precise, try to log in from lightdm.
