thank you for your bug report, that's not a bug though, the error you
copied in the description are clear, you need to install unity-2d-panel
and unity-2d-shell to start an unity2d session (I guess 3d doesn't work
for your hardware and it tries to fallback to 2d)

  gnome-session crashes, cannot login

Status in “gnome-session” package in Ubuntu:
  Invalid

Bug description:
  When logging in, the login screen displays. After entering password,
  the message "Failed to load session "ubuntu"" is displayed and logout
  is the only option.

  In the syslog, the messages come from gnome-session stating:
