This is a general problem with PolicyKit dialogs, not just with the one
Ubuntu Software Center invokes.

That secondary text should be removed -- or even better, made
authentication-method-specific, e.g. "To continue, enter your
password.".

Title:
  Authentication dialog has redundant text

Status in “policykit-1” package in Ubuntu:
  Triaged

Bug description:
  this is the dialog:

  title: Authenticate
bold text: To install or remove software, you need to authenticate.
text: An application is attempting to perform an action that requires
privileges.
Authentication is required to perform this action.

  buttons: Cancel Authenticate

"Authenticate" is written 4 times, I think that the dialog could be
simplified by removing the non-bold text

  that is, by leaving only

  title: Authenticate
bold text: To install or remove software, you need to authenticate.

  buttons: Cancel Authenticate
