Hi, First of all, I apologize for my late reply.
We developed Common Desktop Infrastructure, but support was not provided in 2008. After that, the project was stopped. GNOME and KDE came to run on D-Bus, so probably primitive data type can be transmitted and received through D-Bus. However, each applications can't cooperate unless they treat text data by using clipboard. Because, it is necessary to handle complicated data object in desktop applications. Therefore, we developed Common Desktop Infrastructure to realize data exchange between KDE, GNOME, OpenOffice.org and Mozilla. the layer for converting complicated data data object is necessary, even if all these desktop applications come to be connected to D-Bus. But, there isn't such a thing. 2010/10/5 Karthikeyan Krishnamurthi <[email protected]>: > > Ok.. we wait for your reply... and is there any example that shows the > interoperability between GNOME & KDE Environment? because we seen example > only for UNO, QT & SOAP in examples of Common Desktop Infrastructure. Unfortunately, we made only samples of connecting KDE and UNO now. We were not convinced of whether UNO could connect with D-Bus, so we gave priority to that we did the inspection. We developed only these before 2008. Personally, I have been considering a means to continue this project.
