I've landed a series of patches including bug 1098495 that will speed up group opacity applied on a group of active layers. We will re-use the surface and content when possible. This new fast path is hit by the lock screen and the app transition on B2G. These animations should be smoother and in some cases will leave more memory bandwidth for the app to work with which will help bring it up slightly faster. This optimization is particularly targeted for B2G.
